What do I edit?
I work in a variety of topics and genres, but my favorite projects are books that seek change within their genre or audience.
Topics & Genres
Much of my work is on nonfiction and creative nonfiction. I also edit speculative and adventure novels for adults and children. I have a depth of experience in:
Books by speakers, educators, and trainers
Personal and professional development and self-help
Memoir and creative nonfiction
Books by and for women, nonbinary folks, and the LGBTQIA+ community
Academic writing (monographs, edited volumes, and journals, primarily in the humanities and social sciences)
K–12 educational books (history, literature, science, arts, high-low)
Middle-grade and YA fantasy, science fiction, and adventure
Science-fiction, fantasy, and speculative novels (I love genre benders!)
Thriller/adventure novels
Do any of these topics align with your project? Let’s talk! I’d love to connect with you or send you a quote.
Please note: I do not edit cookbooks, diet books, books about pet death, horror, mainstream romance, erotica, or works with sensationalized portrayals of sexual violence.
What Clients Are Saying
“I engaged Kellie to do both a developmental edit and a copy edit of my children’s book. She was excellent and a pleasure to work with throughout. She took the time to understand my goals for the book and her recommendations were spot on. She provided extensive written comments that were incredibly helpful and was always available (in a timely way) to respond to any concerns or questions I had throughout the process. We established a schedule and she met every deadline we set. I would hire her again without question and recommend her services enthusiastically.”
